Welcome to TREK Vanuatu
Introducing Vanuatu…
Vanuatu has an extraordinary variety of natural wonders to offer from
active Volcanoes to idyllic islands turquoise lagoons, stunning bays,
coral reefs, beautiful flora and fauna , lush tropical forests, and
perhaps most importantly its own unique traditional culture. It is a
privilege to witness a little of this spectacular living cultural
wealth. Many destinations offer travellers a commercialized “eco–tourism
“product, but if ever there was a natural “eco-tourism” destination, it
has to be here in the islands of fire and magic.

Be Aware!

Whilst hotels and restaurants can be found in both Port Vila and Luganville on Santo, the services available elsewhere consist of very
basic adventure style lodges.
However if you are prepared to forgo a
little comfort, they offer a unique opportunity to witness and share the
unspoilt nature and culture of this magnificent island group. The rural
establishments are often community or family operated lodges and
Bungalows.
Simply constructed from local materials, many do not have electricity,
or other familiar hotel amenities.
Whilst basic is their facilities, the accommodation is always clean, tidy
and located in natural and peaceful environments. Most have 5 or 8
bungalows and except at times of special cultural events or
celebrations, there is rarely more than 10 or 18 guest.
Bathroom facilities are very often shared and in some cases toilets are
totally ecological! To assist you we have established a rough rating
using shells to indicate the standards. These do not compare to the
internationally recognized standards rated using stars.
Most offer basic, plentiful meals prepared using local seasonal fruit
and vegetables, fish, chicken, beef and occasionally pork. Where limited
bar facilities are mentioned, this is often restricted to beer, wine and
soft drink
You are more than welcome to bring your own wines or favourite spirits
with you. If there is no generator there will be no fridge.
The outer Island tours are only recommended for the adventure minded traveler who is prepared to accept simple comfort in exchange for an
extraordinary experience.
